Premium Domain Name Auction: NL.com, FUTURE.com, 8.co, and more at Heritage Auctions in New York

Quick.com, Mouse.com, Import.com, Arts.org, Equity.com, Arcade.com, Luxe.com, Classic.com and rare two- and three-letter domain names highlight Feb. 9 auction at Waldorf Astoria Hotel

NEW YORK – The unique domain NL.com could sell for $500,000 as one of several coveted corners of the internet offered in Heritage Auctions’ Signature Domain Auction Feb. 9 at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The auction’s 30 investment-grade names includes an unusual single lot of 84, three-letter domain names that rarely appear at auction, said Aron Meystadt, Director of Domain Names and Intellectual Property at Heritage.

“Owning an easily-recognizable domain name can make or break a business on the web and this auction features a limited inventory all of which is priced to sell,” he said. “Since domain names are the real estate of the Internet, it is crucial to have a highly desirable location online for customers to find you.”

Among the domains never before offered for sale, 8.co is also one of the shortest domains available. Interestingly, .co is the domain of choice for the world’s leading innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses and brands including Twitter’s video blogging site (vine.co) and Google (g.co).

Ideal domain names for a variety of instantly-recognizable businesses brands include Luxe.com, Quick.com, Mouse.com, Import.com, Classic.com and Future.com. Among the highly desirable domains available for finance firms is MoneyBlog.com, Equity.com and Stock.Market, which also represents a relatively new innovation in addresses featuring a fully-functioning web address comprised of two words separated by a period.

“Stock.Market is a next-gen name and among the first of its kind to appear at public auction,” Meystedt said. “It’s a very unique name and we expect intense bidder interest.”

The auction’s only other unique, two-word domain, NYC.Lawyer, offers near limitless potential as the homepage for a private firm, association or agency.

Additional premium domains include Frisco.com, NottingHill.com. NYC.am and NYC.fm, both offered in a single lot, present peerless virtual landing pads for radio broadcast stations tied to the United States’ most populous city.

Additional highlights include, but are not limited to:

SmartWatches.com – Associated with the $2.5-billion global wearable technology market.

Corn.com – A major piece of internet real estate reflecting a global industry and commodity.

Arcade.com – A powerful domain that has not been offered for sale in nearly 20 years.

Arts.org – A highly-desirable, four-character domain offering a matchless portal into the vast world of non-profits, charities, and organizations.
